“Wonderful, fun, pleasant, warm.”

Beautiful home with amazing facilities. Thoughtfully set up with families in mind. We loved the toys and dvds, the great kitchen and all the facilities.

“Our week in the Granary Cottage was excellent.”

All of the facilities were great and the children loved all of the extras – the toys, the garden, the games – all excellent. Everything was clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of space for everyone. Warminster was perfectly placed for trips to Bath, Longleat, Dorset and Cheddar Gorge.

Resting just outside the centre of the market town of Warminster, Granary Cottage is an end-of-terrace dwelling offering a fantastic base for a Wiltshire adventure. Dating back to 1820 where originally a maltster and his family lived in the cottage for 40 years, now newly renovated but keeping the charm of an old country cottage.

Discover a wealth of attractions in every direction, including Longleat Safari where the TV show Animal Farm is filmed, Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral and the Cranborne Chase AONB, with Granary Cottage offering a homely setting to return to each day.

Be welcomed into the spacious sitting room after a fun-filled day, with a log burner set in an original stone fireplace, where you can relax on the sofas before the TV or take out the hockey/football table from the games cupboard and challenge a friend or family member to a game!

Step into the open-plan kitchen/diner when you want to prepare some family meals, a well-equipped kitchen offers an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge, while the dining room enjoys a up to eight-seater adding plenty of character to this lovingly restored property.

A useful utility room is home to a washing machine, while a cloakroom can be found here too.

If you are looking to get the most from you holiday or short break and want to have your last workday before enjoying a break at Granary Cottage, there is a folding chair, folding desk and PC monitor in the game’s cupboard, the high speed Wifi will help too.

Head upstairs to find the three bedrooms, including a king-size, a configurable twin or second king offering an array of choice for different groups and a bunk bed three sleeper (single above, double below).

There is a downstairs small double sofa bed in addition in the lounge for even more flexibility!

Spend a few moments relaxing in the bath in the family bathroom, a perfect place to reflect on another happy day, with a walk-in waterfall shower here too for those quicker morning showers.

The garden has been beautifully transformed into a real haven, with a children’s play area to keep the little ones entertained on a summer’s day, a laid lawn and two patios with seating to catch the sun throughout the day, where you can relax with a morning coffee, alfresco dining and evening drinks.

A trip to this part of the UK wouldn’t be complete without heading to the UK’s first ever safari, Longleat Safari Park where you can see monkeys, lions, tigers and rhinos all from your car window, as well as exploring the grand Longleat House and trying to make it out of the Longleat Hedge Maze, it’s a world of fun!

Warminster is home to a host of history alongside its many amenities with great restaurants and pubs to visit, as well as Warminster Museum and the Warminster Lakeside Pleasure Grounds with an outdoor paddling area for children, popular in summer!

Explore the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a walk or cycle through the stunning countryside, before heading further east over to the magnificent Stonehenge to see the legendary neolithic monument with your own eyes, it’s surely not to be missed.

A day trip to Salisbury will prove a fascinating one, with Salisbury Cathedral home to the Magna Carta, a huge part of the UK’s history, with tower tours offering staggering views across the landscape.

In the other direction is the city of Bath, well-known for being a location used in many of Jane Austen’s novels and now home to The Jane Austen Centre, dedicating a small museum to the life and times of the writer, take a tourist photo on Pulteney Bridge, explore No.1 Royal Crescent, a Georgian home and heritage museum on the very recognisable crescent, and experience Thermae Bath Spa.

Also within reach are the Mendips, the southern Cotswolds, and the North Wessex Downs, making Granary Cottage a fabulous choice for a fun-filled stay in Warminster.

“Wonderful stay at Granary Cottage, celebrating an early Christmas with family nearby.”

Thoughtfully and considerately well-equipped, the kitchen even managed to produce Christmas dinner for 8! Our grandson Charlie, who is almost 2, loved the garden and the toys provided. Trips to Longleat Festival of Light and Bath Christmas Market added to an amazing family week – we made lots of special memories, for which the cottage provided an excellent base. A huge thank you to the owners.
